Gymnázium pod Svatou horou
is a grammar school in the Czech Republic. The school is located in Central Bohemia in Příbram, a town about 60 kilometres far from Prague. Our school is not a big school. There are about 300 students and 30 teachers. It is a small family-like school with a friendly atmosphere. We educate students aged 13 to 20 years. The school offers two branches. A - 6-year branch which provides students with general education Students who study general branch come to our school at the age of 13 and do not specialise at any subject. This branch prepares students for university studies. B - 4-year branch which provides students with the language specialisation. The 4-year branch welcomes students at the age of 15. These students study languages in deep and have more lessons of a language than the former branch. Students also have to cover all the general education and the studies are preparations for the university studies. Our students study all the general subjects. Every student studies 2 languages, mainly English and French or German. There is also Russian taught in our school. Our students are fond of languages and we love welcoming our friends from our partneship schools and going abroad learning about other cultures. The town where our school is located is not very big. There are about forty thousand inhabitants here. The school offers a beautiful view of the Holy Mountain, the oldest pilgrimage site in the Czech Republic and displaying baroque architecture in the old town. The town can offer a cultural life in the form of visiting theatre, cinema and concerts. There is a sport centre, swimming pool and a winter stadium. The town is located in a hilly area of the Brdy uplands. English Language Department phone no. : +420 318 679 027 Mgr. Klára
